Its most influential champions have usually been immigrants fleeing revolution who align themselves with whatever awful hereditary elites in the home country precipitated the revolution in the first place. Shouldn’t we consider that libertarianism is actually a form of crypto-tsarism—nostalgia for a lost world of untrammelled aristocratic power?
