Think of it from the Mill Street owners’ perspective. You can continue working your butt off to hopefully make a living, or you can take a big fat cheque and run. If you were in that situation, what would you do?

I love that a small business owner created a great product and reap the rewards of selling his brand. That’s the whole purpose of starting a small business: so you can one day sell it and retire.

The student loan thing is interesting.
I’m 43 and have been working at a high paying job for 19 years. I have large amounts of money saved up. ($300,000 ish)
So, I guess I could quit my job so I have zero income, get some student loans, and then putter around keeping my income below $25,000 until I retire with a great CPP plan that they’re going to create.
This is what Canadians voted for. Free ride off the backs of others.

The problem is: too many students go to university to party and delay working for 4 years, without any thought about building the prerequisites for a career. Then when they can’t get a job they blame “the system” instead of their lack of foresight. And now we want to reward those who waste their university education?
Canada wasn’t in a hole to begin with, anymore than the middle class was being left behind, but a strong, vibrant country with a stable economy. Too bad Trudeau chose to lie, fear monger and speak half-truths to get elected, and now is showing his arrogance in suggesting that this country only now has a chance to be great, just because he and the liberals have been chosen to run the government of this country. Expect to see more of this arrogance and credit taking in the near future.
I wonder if she well still fell this way when her daughters have been gang raped by “refugees” and nothing well be done by the cops and the legal system for fear of been label a racist.

Read the comments section on any website and you’ll eventually come to someone telling us about the future and what other people’s motives are. This is fine, we all do it: we look at someone else and say “I bet they like to smell their own farts” or something to that effect. Perhaps not about their farts. Let’s put anything about the anus behind us and say that we speculate about the intents and habits of others, sometimes to be complementary “I bet you leave thank-you cards for the Refuse collectors!” to the insulting “I wouldn’t trust you to sit straight on the toilet”
Sometimes, though we look at someone else and say “given free reign, that asshole would run roughshod over the future of every man, woman and child in [ your country here] ”
For those of us in the Dust
Published by NiteMayr on December 13, 2019I’ve lived through 10 recessions (or at least it feels like that) periods where speculators and money people go into panics and just tank the economy and the rest of the world, the people that buy things and make things and shift the dust around are left holding the bag. Over and over again. In the 80s when our Parents and Grandparents were getting on in age and had spent 30 years getting comfortable and being able to afford things like College and 2 Cars and so on the party came to an end for “Those of us in the Dust” as it were.
The Speculators were firmly in control again, the lessons from the 30s (the easy money, the universal speculation) had faded, the people who lived through that era were old, our Parents and Grandparents had been born in the Post World War 2 era boom that was never, ever going to end. Right?
Who needed Unions and Labor organizations? They were just keeping people from making as much money as possible; as much as they were worth. If you were worth more, why rely on a Union full of lazy, corrupt people to take care of what you could easily do o your own; right?
