Kevin Wardrop is an amateur writer, amateur photographer and professional pain in the ass. He has worked in the PC support business for most of his adult life and has been accustomed to simply answering technical questions as a matter of fiat, it was his career choice after all. Now he herds cats and puppies for a living as well as babysitting the web enterprises at the heart of western industry.
If you decided; after reading my burning treatise on burning stuff to try making plasma at home, I want to address you.
After discussing it with some adults I should warn you NOT to do it. It could damage your microwave.
So, Don’t do it.

Today I performed SCIENCE! I made plasma in the microwave oven.
I will not share the secret of non-destructive plasma making, I will only say that it was violent, bright and loud. There may have been some grapes involved. It took about 20 seconds. More than that and it may have stopped being science and started being pyromania.
I may have engaged in some light pyromania on the road to science.

After about a millennia, I’ve taken out my DSLR camera and plugged in the damn battery to charge. It’s been a dog’s age since I last stood, camera in hand and wondered if the peerson in the viewfinder will be mad if I take their picture unawares.
I think I’ll head out with the dogs tomorrow to take pictures
