Kevin Wardrop is an amateur writer, amateur photographer and professional pain in the ass. The Conservative government has mismanaged the Temporary Foreign Worker Program so badly they have more than doubled its intake of temporary foreign workers (TFWs), admitting almost as many temporary workers to Canada as new permanent residents in 2012.
While unemployment is NOT zero in a given area the Government should prohibit imorting new workers. Simple and plain. If they can’t find someone qualified, then train, if they can’t attract a worker at a given rate, pay a bit more (within reason) In areas where they have to compete with high paying jobs they should have to offer competitive wages; not import workers from outside canada to unbalance the economy.
