Mel, ignorance is not a virtue

DissolvedInsultYikes!  I'm blocked now by the way, so I cannot respond directly.  The Comment in question (one of around 4 I have ever left on Melanie's photos) was something along the lines of:

"Wow, this is awesome, I'm so jealous.  Can you feel my jealousy falling on you, it's like grease paint and jealously coming from a crying clown a tall crying clown"

The picture in question appears to have been removed in some form of manic deletion spree.    Truly, it was a jealously worthy image of a bridge in Prague(?).  I'm not sure that my comment warranted this swipe (especially over 3 months later....what)

This was her response at the time:

DissolvedInsult2

So; sinceI cannot reply privately; I respond in public:

Melanie,  I have a fairly evolved sense of humor and can accept that even the humorless have cameras.  Your pictures are nice; I enjoy them and vicariously celebrate your world tour (I envy your freedom to travel).  I was unaware that part and parcel with that freedom came the license to insult people who you have no real relationship with.  It's one thing to go on a manic tear and delete comments and even block me from commenting once in a while on your photos.  It's another thing altogether to go out and insult my family.  I await your apology.

In the mean time, enjoy any new friends you make via this blog post.

The Funny thing is that this isn't the first time this has happened; about 2 years ago after Melanie broke up with my best bud in Eugene, 007Ben, she did the same thing.  Deleting all my comments (2 of them) and blocking me.  She left my family out of it that time.

Andy Warhol would be proud of the brand of publicity she provides, but I don’t respect Andy Warhol or his methods. He’s a leech, like some people.

True, I took some jabs at her at first. I admit that. I also admit that it had nothing to do with jealousy. Some people need to strike at others for a sense of personal catharsis (like her comment to you), but I am not some people. As for why I came to her page in the first place: when people live together, people talk. And Ben talked briefly about her (I’ll spare libelous details). Actually, bitched is a better word. She was an amusing creature to me, something you poke at while studying pathology. I took the first jab, yes, and I regret it, but I learned some things from it. I learned that some people never let go. Some people rant and rave for years, and track down the email address to my cooking blog to bother me. Some people think the world is shining on them alone. Some people cannot understand that people accidentally click on internet links and buttons every day; this is an everyday accident, not an elaborate plot. Some people should consider taking their medication. Diabetics do not get chastised for taking their insulin in order to survive. Lithium and thorazine are that necessary for some people. This is what some people get for not having an education.

Your comment was no more coherent than anything some people could come up with, I’m sure.

    Wow.

Yeah she HAD to remove me from her contacts because of someone else. I don’t think so. If I was doing something from my account, or someone was doing something from my account then yes. But removing me from her contacts isn’t going to stop anyone from finding her photos. In fact I think I removed her from my contacts 1st because I simply wasn’t interested in her photo stream of what seemed like an endless stream of self portraits.

Having gone back and reviewed things it looks like there has been a purging of her photo stream recently, perhaps because of your comment?

The family attack was surely her just trying to get the same kind of reaction out of you or one up your comment and an attempt to make it sting because your comment had stung her or confused her so she went into full on attack mode because she can’t handle any or much criticism… Of course this is just theory and speculation as I don’t know what the photo was or the comment left was…

the photo was a really nice picture of a bridge in prague, really an excellent one at that. I was making a Dada-ist comment about how jealous of it (it was REALLY great) this was MONTHS ago, not anything recent.

This “Bat Man” message was literally out of the blue.

Man, I should spell check, even at 6:19AM

Don’t you love how her second comment not only has nothing to do with you, but revolves around someone you have never met? I would say that she is lashing out at whoever she can to feel better. She’s projecting her anger.

But what do I know? I was only studying to be a psychiatrist.

I have finally figured out what comment set her off! I responded to “Dance is the hidden Language of the body” with

“Dance is a visual medium, hardly making it that hidden; and if dance is the hidden language what is farting?”

Some people have no sense of humor.

And hear I sit…a month later…just getting to enjoy the humor of all of it. I’m sorry I missed it when it was live action.
I, for one, enjoy drive by humor, and sarcasm. I don’t know what I’d do without it.

I’ll be the greasy, tall, danceless, clown. It’s kinda an idea for a photo now that I think of it.

Ben, NiteMayr, Kala, I can only hope to be the object of such wit one day.
