The former Prince Albert teacher convicted of sexually exploiting a 15-year-old student two decades ago has received an 18-month sentence but will not be going to jail.

The Crown had been asking for jail, but instead, the judge gave Bonnie McLachlan, 53, 200 hours of community service and a conditional sentence that will be served at home.

This sounds like an injustice for the victim
