Isn’t this simply illegal? Promising a pot of Gold?

The sting came after an undercover agent for U.S. Homeland Security Investigations agreed to provide the drug smugglers with drivers and use of a warehouse in exchange for a $10,000 payment for each truckload of drugs moved, according to a probable cause statement.

So again, the operation hinged on a government agent getthing things going? Strange that.

1) We have a small team so please be patient, but the 1st order of business is getting you back the original game! So, by Halloween (Nether’s 2 year anniversary BTW), we will have the MBER back end ripped out, the game rolled back to the build we launched out of early access in the summer of 2014 (when we were the developer for the game), and you will be able to play local single player. From now on, all you’ll need is your Steam account, MBER accounts will no longer work or be required.

2) As soon after that as we can manage, we will have player hosted servers enabled, so you can set up your own games and play MP again! We want you to be able to own your game, and deal with cheaters and hackers how you see fit. Or, go set up a cheat bot and hack haven server, whatever you want!

3) We’ll also be ripping out the concept of gold, IAP, and any traces of pay to win.

4) After that, we want to start adding in mod tools and expose server settings so you can make the game even MORE what you want – more/less players per server, more/less guns in the game, more/less Nether in the world, more/less PvP, on/off Tribe friendly fire…we’ll work with you to figure out what server configurations you want to mess with, that we can enable.

All this will mean a full restart, which may be annoying for those who have a lot of progress, but it is the best we can do, and we sincerely hope that this Nether Resurrected will be stronger and more powerful than ever before! We will update the community often on our progress and the state of the title. The game should go back to being purchasable around the time of our re-release. So, get ready to have your game back and enjoy Single Player by Halloween, and soon after that to host your own games!

Phosphor Games on Taking back Nether

One of the anti-abortion protesters, a man named Bartholomew Schumacher, says Severson has them all wrong, and complains he refuses to listen to them.

“He just wouldn’t engage,” Schumacher told WDAY. “He just kept saying we’re oppressive white men who want to control women’s lives and stuff. I don’t want that. I just want protection of the innocent.”

That’s a very interesting thing for Schumacher to say, because according to the City of Fargo’s sex offender registry, he is a level two sex offender, convicted of raping a female family member in August 2011. He is required to remain on the sex offender registry until 2039.

According to media accounts from the time, Schumacher beat and raped the woman in 2010, then tied her to a toddler bed with electrical tape and menaced her with a knife, making gestures as though he intended to slit her throat. After about two hours, the woman was able to free herself and run for help. Court records show Schumacher was convicted of gross sexual imposition, felonius restraint, and two counts of terrorizing his victim. He served a little less than one year in jail and remained on probation for the next five.

Dear Airbnb,

I’m happy to hear that you paid your taxes this year. I did too! Isn’t it awesome? However, I’ve crunched some numbers and I have some bad news for you. Out of your $12 mil of hotel tax, only 1.4% percent goes to the SF Public Libraries. So that’s $168,000. Divided by the 868 library staff, we have $193 per person. Assuming each employee works 5 days per week minus holidays, this is $0.78 per employee per day. Since that’s significantly under San Francisco minimum wage ($12.25/hr), I doubt that your hotel tax can keep the libraries open more than a minute or two later.

However, had you donated that $8 million you spent fighting Proposition F directly to the public libraries you love so much, that could have made a bigger difference. Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20!

Love,
