looking back through this clumsy toy at this strange world, in which worn things weren’t meticulously distressed, but actually worn, abraded by their passage through time.
Is The Peripheral all just a commentary on today’s fashion and a continued discussion about how we deal with history and celebrity or what?

Today I saw a cashier pay for a guys beers; this may not seem like a good thing, but I’ve been where that guy was. That beer (only a couple beers really) is the thin line between despair and a good nights sleep on the bad days (in my estimation).
When nothing else is working, the cheap soporific of high alcohol beer can keep you warm in your head, and soothe those rough things that solitude or emotional isolation has created.
